During this week, we did a lot of interesting things like a trip to Nantes, a whole day for ecology, a day of beach clean-up and a party.

In this article, you will discover what we did and saw.

Monday was the first day in the French school for the Slovaks.

First, during the first hour, students were talking about how different holidays are celebrated in Slovakia and France. It was really interesting to see the differences between the two countries. Slovak students took part in the English lesson with French students. They presented their school in Slovakia to the french students. Then they talked in groups about differences between school in Slovakia and France. For example: about timetables, subjects and rules in their school.

After that the slovak students joined French students for the lunch. They really enjoyed their meal. In the afternoon Slovak students took part in different classes like Math, French or Spanish.

By bus, we went to Nantes for the whole day. We went to the AGRONAUTE, an urban farm. There, we learned about what they do, how they plant, sell, profit… The place is also used for parties, events, etc. We even got to taste a sprout! It started raining while we were in the bus on our way to the Machines de l’Ile.

In Les Machines de l’île

First, we saw animals, an ant, a spider, birds like the colibri, and a love parade between two birds. Some students were able to ride on machines! After, we took a ride on a carousel in the carousel there are birds, boat, horses… We also saw a representation of a plane with a man inside. We saw an elephant but we couldn’t go in. After that, we had a 20 minutes break, and we went to take a coffee.

Finally we walked to take the bus with a lot of rain and wind. we went back to Les Sables d’Olonne where it was sunny.

On Wednesday, first we spent the day in the meeting room. We present solutions to the different ecological problems of everyday life. Then here were a total of 8 groups. Students from all classes of the college came to see us and we presented them with our different solutions to have a better quality of life.

Finally At 10 a.m., we also organized a bake sale and a redistribution of forgotten clothes. We liked it because we were sharing and we were able to talk a lot with the Slovaks and therefore create links and friendships with other people from another country. We were also able to learn words in Slovak and we were able to introduce them to all the people from the Collège. We were also able to talk to people from the school that we had never spoken to.

We gave a tour of les Sables D’Olonne to present the city to the slovak students : city center, le remblais, the port, La Chaume and the beach La Paracou. It was hot but the city was remaining calm and beautiful. We walked for 4 hours before eating our picnics on the beach.

During the afternoon, we cleaned it. Everyone got a lot of sunburns but it was important to care about the nature. Fortunately, we had a bus for the way back (because we were pretty tired to walk). There was the Potluck from 5pm to 7pm. Everyone brought some dishes to eat. Then we went outside and we shared our music tastes. It was really nice! We loved to present our city to them, but we hated to walk under the sun.

Friday, our Slovakian friends joined us for English class and stayed for two hours in the afternoon. We had a great time learning together and practicing our English skills.
